Total number of deaths (approximately) associated with influenza (observed through the FluMOMO algorithm) in England, 2014 to 2019. Never mind about Scotland, Wales and Northern Island. 

2014/2015 - 28,330 (*25,143)  

2015/2016 - 11,875 (*9,495) 

2016/2017 - 18,009 (*15,167)

2017/2018 - 26,408 (*22,237)

* Over 65

The overwhelming majority of deaths in England were in the 65 and over age group.

So why don't the medics get a sense of proportion and stop bullying the British public. The elderly are the only ones to be protected from a pandemic.
